Day in Capri

August 29, 2013: today it will complete the arrivals of swimmers engaged Sunday at the Capri-Napoli. At the start 24 athletes from 13 countries. Today teh swimmers will be engaged in training and will be able to view the new location of the arrival of competition.
Tomorrow, day in Capri with the greeting of the Mayor, the traditional photo in “Piazzetta” and training at the location of the start of the race “Lido Le Ondine”.
The transfers to Capri will be cared for by the partner of the event “Navigazione Libera del Golfo”. In Capri instead, the swimmers will move from Marina Grande in Capri thanks to the invaluable support of the famous funicular of Capri, which is also an official partner of the event.

7th stage FINA Grand Prix
August 25, 2013: in the seventh and penultimate round of the 2013 FINA Grand Prix held yesterday in Ohrid in Macedonia, won the French Reymond and Martina Grimaldi.

For men: 1) Reymond (Fra), 2) Stochino (Ita), 3) Afanevic (Rus).
For women: 1) Grimaldi (Ita); Kozydub (Rus); Sitic K. (Cro).

10th anniversary
24 August 2013: 10 years and 11 editions ago, the “new” race Capri-Naples has back with the 38th edition, after a long break of 11 years.
The race, the latest edition dating from 1992, was reorganized by a new company, represented by Luciano Cotena, after the previous 37 editions organized by “Il Mattino”.
A traditional and historical event, whose first edition dates back to 1954, was again part of the events of the Neapolitan summer and of FINA OWS World Cup calendar.
32 competitors at the start, with the victory of Bulgarian Petar Stoychev, who would become the 10-time world champion (And now Sport Minster in Bulgaria). Among women victory with record of German Angela Maurer. At the start even some veterans of previous editions, Paul Asmuth, Claudio Plit and Rosario Castellano who did not want to miss the return of the marathon for excellence in world swimming.
Since then, 11 editions, with that which will be staged next week, and the arrival in Naples of the 4th edition of the absolute FINA Open Water Swimming World Championships in 2006.
