Trophies 2013
August 22, 2013: In addition to the trophy “Banco di Napoli” for the 2013 edition we will be giving away 2 more trophies.
For the fourth year to the best young swimmer, under 25, in the race will be awarded the “Trofeo Filippo Calvino,” to remind the continuous and important commitment to the young people of the late lamented friend.
For the first time, however, is set up a new trophy, “CAG Chemical to be awarded to the athlete who best interpret the technical movements.
The same “C.A.G. Chemical, a leader in products for the treatment of swimming pools, will award a prize for the two winners of the “Sprint Race,” which will feature the official athletes, held in “Baia” on Saturday, August 31 at 10:30 am.
Banco di Napoli trophy
August 21, 2013: For the fourth consecutive year, “Banco di Napoli” is the main sponsor of the event. An important partnership for the Capri-Napoli in view of upcoming events related to the 50 editions of the erace.
In this edition, therefore, we will be giving away the beautiful and prestigious trophy “Banco di Napoli”, awarded to the winner and who will be raised by those who will win the race, being man or woman.
A beautiful trophy, even significant, two beautiful dolphins emerging from the waves of the sea, and wrap on them.
On the trophy are engraved the names of the 47 previous winners, from Mohamed Hassan victorious in 1954 until Trent Grimsey, winner with record in the last edition.

August 20, 2013: unveiled the advertising image that will accompany the 2013 edition of the Capri-Napoli. The art director who created it, Dario Buonanno, tells us how the idea is to highlight the essential elements that characterize the race. Obviously the swimmer seen as mythological figure, half human and half fish to highlight the epic challenge of dealing 36 km of open sea. This year it is added, however, also another element: the world, with the swimmer that comes close to it, to signify the fact that the race is the last leg of the FINA World Grand Prix and with the race Capri-Napoli also assigning the world titles.
Start of the race at “Lido le Ondine”
August 19, 2013: While the arrival of the race will be one of the big news of this edition, the start of the race will take place from the traditional location of the “Lido le Ondine” at Marina Grande.
Always milestone in the history of the crossing Capri-Napoli, the “Bagni le Ondine” will be presented this year with a fresh look, halfway between tradition and innovation.
Home of the official training on the afternoon of Friday, August 30, and the official start of the race, Sunday 1st September swimmers as always find a warm welcome by the islanders and the many tourists fascinated by the beauty of Capri and the famous crossing race.
Missing two weeks to the 2013 Capri-Napoli
August 18, 2013: keenly awaiting the 2013 edition of the Capri-Napoli scheduled in just two weeks on Sunday 1st September. While the C.O. is still working hard to fix the last details, swimmers are preparing to face the final two races of the season at the FINA Grand Prix. In particular, the Capri-Napoli in addition to the stage victory, will award the world title, as happened in the past. Meanwhile, the C.O. defined the starting list that will see competing 25 participants from 13 countries. Among them for the first time in the race the world champion in Barcelona over the distance of 25 km: Martina Grimaldi, while, among the men, the vice world champion in Barcelona over the distance of 25 km: Belgian Brian Rycheman and the other italian Simone Ercoli fighting for the FINA Grand Prix title.
Next race in Ohrid Macedonia (30 km) on 24 August.
New finish venue C.C. Napoli
August 13, 2013: the edition of this year’s Capri-Napoli, celebrating the 48 editions in 60 years, will have many new features. The most important will be the arrival of the new location set up at the Club “Canottieri Napoli“.
In particular, the swimmers will complete the race in the water in front of “Via Nazario Sauro” in front of the cliff “Molosiglio”.
In 1956 the race came to an adjacent area and Alfredo Camarero won that race.
At the “Canottieri Napoli” there will be the “Village” reserved for athletes, guests and media. The Club over the arrival of the race will host many other events, becoming the “headquarters” of the issue.
At “Via Nazario Sauro” people can attend, as well as upon arrival, the most exciting part of the race, after 36 km swim in the open sea, even at the awards ceremony which will be put in an area of the Circle clearly visible from the adjacent part of the waterfront.
6th stage FINA World Cup 10 km
August 12, 2013: Here are the results of the 6th stage of the FINA World Cup over the distance of 10 km, which took place Saturday August 10 to Lac Megantic in Canada:
Men: 1) Lurz (GER): 2h 15 ’35 “, 2) Reichert (GER): 2h 15′ 36″, 3) De Bona (BRA): 2h 15 ’38;
Women: 1) Grimaldi (ITA): 2h 26 ’52 “2) Jennings (USA) 2h 26′ 53″, 3) Brunemann (USA) 2h 26 ’55.

6th stage FINA Grand Prix
August 3, 2013: In the sixth stage of the FINA Grand Prix took place today at Magog in Canada, won the French Hedel, followed by the Canadian Descharnais and the Macedonian Pop Acev. For women photo-finish final with the victory of the Russian Olga Kozydub, followed by the Czech Rybarova and the world champion in Barcelona, the Italian Martina Grimaldi.
