Official press conference
August 30, 2020: Tuesday, September 1st, at 12, the 55th edition of the Capri-Naples, World Challenge 2020 scheduled for Sunday, September 6th, will be presented to the Maschio Angioino castle in Naples.
At the conference the news and events of this exciting edition will be unveiled and the athletes who will try to win will be announced, after the last edition which saw the Italian double victory.

Italian Championships 10 Km
The 10 km races open the Italian championships taking place in Piombino (18-19 August), where the 2.5 km will also take place tomorrow; then Friday 21 in Marina di Grosseto the 5 km. In the water 174 athletes (100 males and 74 females) representing 60 clubs. In the women’s test, a victory that smacks of redemption, after the failure to qualify for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, for Arianna Bridi. The 24-year-old from Trento (esercito) swims in 2h02’12”, preceding Giulia Gabbrielleschi (Fiamme Oro) in 2h02’13”5 and the Olympic vice-champion Rachele Bruni (Esercito).
Among the men, however, Gregorio Paltrinieri’s first success at the Italian open water championships. The Olympic, bi-world and tri-European champion of the 1500 freestyle in long and gold world champion in the 800 at Gwangju 2019 – (Fiamme Oro), touches first in 1h52’09”7, followed by the French Marc-Antoine Olivier in 1h52’23 ‘ ’9 and by training partner Domenico Acerenza (Fiamme Oro / CC Napoli) third in 1h52’29”4. Podium of the Italian championships completed by Mario Sanzullo (Fiamme Oro and CC Napoli), who, like Paltrinieri, is already certain of qualification for the Tokyo 2021, which closes in 1h53’03”2.
